A number of WAG Ministers – Ieuan Wyn Jones, Jane Hutt, Leighton Andrews and possibly others – appear to have Ministerial Advisory Groups.  However, finding out about these groups – who sits on them, what they do – is not easy.  Even allowing for the labyrinthine set up of the WAG website, few if any of the members of these groups appear to be publicised.  The make up of the newly appointed Social Enterprise Group is clear, but I cant find any reference to the rumoured recent changes to the Economy and Transport MAG, while the announcements on the Education MAG is quite a few years old. Some of the MAGs have done annual reports, some haven’t; some MAG reports – and the WAG response – are on the WAG website, others are not.

Now it is quite possible I have missed the information buried somewhere in a WAG announcement – in which case I am happy to withdraw these comments. But without it, the openness and transparency of these groups and what they do is in question.
