Celebrate democray and devolution at our events on Thursday 15th October in Newport Centre.
First off at 1.15 is a question time for young people to be attended by more than half a dozen local secondary schools. Panellists are Eleanor Burnham AM, Cllr Fiona Cross, Vaughan Gething and Nick Ramsay AM. Chair is Betsan Powys. Later, at 3.30, there are ‘lecturettes’ on voices from the past looking at suffragettes, the chartists and black history – with Glen Jordan, Rachel Lock Lewis and Ryland Wallace. Then at 7 pm is an evening of celebration with poetry from Gillian Clarke and Patrick Jones, performances from Malpas Court Primary School and Crosskeys college and music from the Hennessys. Peter Hain MP is speaking as Secretary of State as is Paul Flynn MP.
There are also more than twenty stalls from each political party in Wales, and from various charity and campaigning organisations.
Tickets are £5 full price and £2 concessions available on the night or from Newport Centre tel. 01633 656757. Be there!
