I'm disabled I've a lesion of the spinal cord which means from the waist down not a lot works. I joined the Job Center attempt to find the disabled scroungers jobs it was called New Deal for the cripples and morons and retards, down I go for an interview , I though this is cleaver you come here and they help you find work, nope what a stupid thing to think. I was shown how to use the Job centers computers and told go forth and work. In the first year I went to thirty nine job interviews but ended up with one, I'd turn up the secretary or the person at the front desk would hurry away I'd see people peeping through windows or doors at the cripple, I'd be told the job is taken it's filled. I was then sent to the shaw Trust to find work, in I go now being an expert at bull shit, the chap said OK we will find you a job, do you know how to work the job centers computer, I was sent to the job center to go on the computer to find work, and the Shaw trust were paid for this. Then one day a phone call said due to lack of interest of employers the shaw trust have left the area. I was then sent to Remploy inter works to find work, they did not even bother pretending, they said so far we have failed to find anyone work we are leaving the area, if you want us to help you then come to the city. I was taken back on at the job center told to come down once a month, then once every two months then told not to bother, my last visit was seen as being naughty of me, that I expected a hard working adviser to take time off to speak to me when they had so many really seriously unemployed. The jobs I was told to go after. I cannot drive, Taxi driver. Lorry driver, bus driver, another taxi driving job. Go fetch must be fit and health able to work fast. Perfume sales person suit women working in boots. Window cleaner the fact is they look at the computer and just send you to anything they have, it did not matter I could not drive, so long as I left the office.
