		<description>You are right to point to the fundamental challenge facing Labour; adjusting to a multi-party polity (a trend that far predates devolution, incidentally). What&#039;s also worth noting is that this is uncharted waters for Wales as a whole. The adjustment is therefore one for the entire political culture.

Owain&#039;s Essay was interesting because of its focus on the issue of leadership, rather than this broader question of structural change. Doubtless, his current studies have informed his view, but before the leadership contest gets started it is timely to note that the leadership of Labour in this new era is perhaps more than just the question of choosing a new Leader.</description>

		<description>I take you point about the candidates not necessarily having anywhere else to go apart from the Trade Unions etc but doesn&#039;t that point to the Welsh Labour Party simply managing its decline rather than looking to build the Party back up and what happens to Wales in the meantime?</description>
